Scientific collaboration on GitHub
GitHub is the most popular, free online distributed version-control system on the internet (Muniah, 2017). It was firstly written to manage the development of the open-source “mighty” Linux operating system. In big software projects like Linux, it is possible to work with large, geographically distributed teams of coders/developers to work independently with their copies of the code, then it allows track changes with the main code base, merge the changes back into the main code, and reverse them if necessary.
About Folder Queue Manager (FQM)
Folder Queue Manager - FQM is a simple software for adhoc Directory Monitoring, command executing and folder copying/moving software for small tasks. This software is written for adhoc needs of a physics research group LRG. With the Covid-19 outbreak, Laboratory went to all remote-work. However, there were some computational codes needed to run on lab computers. However, because of Teamviewer type of remote connection softwares and Reverse SSH were not working on the lab computers, there was a need of this small software. It is best used with Google Drive (GD), Dropbox type of cloud file management tools.
Dr Lisesivdin earned the Royal Academy of Engineering Scholarship
Dr. Lişesivdin, earned to participate a fellowship program of Royal Academy of Engineering which is called “Leaders in Innovation fellowship”. This program is funded by the Ministry of Labor, Energy and Industrial Strategy of the UK: Newton Fund (known as Katip Celebi Fund in Turkey) and directed by the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Our start-up company application is supported by TUBITAK!
Our start-up company plan for building UV-VIS-NIR spectrometer is financially supported by TUBITAK! This year TUBITAK received 3323 entrepreneurial business ideas for the Phase 0. Then after, 1438 entrepreneurs from these applications received Phase I support. Of these entrepreneurs prepared by the related organizations in their technical and business development areas, 422 were accepted for panel evaluations in accordance with the application requirements. TUBİTAK conducted by the academicians, industrialists and investors of the panel evaluation of the results of the 146 entrepreneurs were eligible to pass Phase II (result). Our company is one of them! More news are coming soon.
Our project is passed the first phase of TUBITAK 1003 programme
Our project, which is about to produce the national random number generator upto 40 Gbit/s, is passed the first phase of the TUBITAK 1003 programme. We have already started to finalize the draft of the submission of second phase. Due date for the submissions for the second phase is at November 2018.
Dr. Lisesivdin appointed as full professor
Sefer Bora Lisesivdin, has been appointed to full professor to Gazi University, Faculty of Science, Department of Physics. Because of previous administration is being found to be the part of an illegal parallel-state organization, all position appointments had been frozen for years. Dr. Lisesivdin waited this appointment more than 1.5 year after fullfillment of all possible professorship criteria.
Our project proposal is accepted!
Our new project proposal is accepted by Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). Project is about the production and electrical characterization of ZnO, MgZnO alloys and a MgZnO/ZnO heterostructures by Chemical Vapour Deposition Method and will be held between 2017-2019. Our aim is to develop more durable, more efficient, environment friendly and economical power transistors. Therefore we called this project D.E.H.A*. In addition, Dr. S. B. Lisesivdin will be the project investigator of the project. *: Durable, Efficient, Healthy and Affordable.
Dr. Lisesivdin Received the TUBA / GEBIP Award
Sefer Bora Lisesivdin, has been awarded with the Turkish Academy of Sciences, Distinguished Young Scientist Award for 2016 in the field of Physics. In the framework of this GEBIP programme of the TUBA, his research activities will be supported for a period of 3 years.
Dr. Lisesivdin Earned IEEE Senior Membership
Sefer Bora Lisesivdin, has been recently elevated to the grade of Senior Member of the IEEE. Senior Member is the highest professional grade of the IEEE for which a member may apply and only about 7 percent of IEEE’s 430,000 members have achieved this level.
About 2014 Turkish Society of Physics Prof. Dr. Sevket Erk Young Scientist Award.
Turkish Society of Physics has awarded me with the 2014 YEAR OF TURKISH SOCIETY OF PHYSICS PROF. DR. SEVKET ERK YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD. Award will be presented at the TPS 31. International Physics Congress which will be held at Bodrum, Turkey at July 21st-24th 2014.

Turkish Translation of the book “Understanding Nanotechnology Revolution” by E. L. Wolf and M. Medikonda is published by Turkish publisher Nobel Yayincilik. For more information please click (TURKISH PAGE). Dr. Lisesivdin is one of the translation editors.
New grant received from TUBITAK/RFBR 2532 coded international collaboration programme
We received the joint grant of Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and RFBR of Russia. Project is about manipulation of the properties of two-dimensional electronic gas using insitu surface passivation of AlGaN/GaN heterostructures by molecular beam epitaxy and will be held between 2014-2016. I am the project investigator of the project.
Aestimo v.0.9 is released!
Aestimo Team is proud to release the version 0.9 of Aestimo 1D Self-consistent Schrödinger-Poisson Solver. This version includes many bugfixes, speed improvements, cython code additions, rewritten VBMAT-V part to use numpy better, merging conduction and valance band calculations and more. Code is heavily modified and stabilized. The version 0.9 can be downloaded from https://bitbucket.org/sblisesivdin/aestimo/downloads Aestimo is GPL licensed software. We are always open to your contributions. Please use it, issue a bug, help to write use a better user’s manual or commit to source!
Version 0.8 of the Aestimo solver is released!
Aestimo Team is proud to release the version 0.8 of Aestimo 1D Self-consistent Schrödinger-Poisson Solver. This version includes many new features, bugfixes and small corrections. The most important feature, which is added to Aestimo recently, is the implementation of strain included valence band calculation with 3×3 k.p model. Also, Numpy version is restructured, input file structure and sample inputs are changed and non-parabolicity of conduction band is implemented (Numpy version only). In addition, database is changed to a more clear-understable structure and exchange interaction potential is implemented (Numpy version only). Logging with timers, some customizations in config and a possibility of looping the simulation over a parameter are also the added to new version. Aestimo can work now with new materials InAs, InP, AlP, GaP and new alloys InGaAs, InGaP, AlInP in addition to GaAs and AlGaAs. The version 0.8 can be downloaded fromhttps://bitbucket.org/sblisesivdin/aestimo/downloads Aestimo is GPL licensed software. We are always open to your contributions. Please use it, issue a bug, help to write use a better user’s manual or commit to source!
